Walls.

O dear, I have not posted anything up in a while. Woops! I have been extremely busy I say as an excuse!

I have been working full time at expression sessions and doing the occasional wedding. So am very, very tired.
For me its been very hard to get back into the working mode. 9-5 everyday. ughhh
That is the good thing about freelance, you can kind of be a bit lenient with your hours.

Freelance is great, but very daunting when you start out. You tend to always compare yourself to others, like 'why does she have more clients than me' or her portfolio looks way better than mine' 'how can she edit everything so well', believe me I still do this. It is one of my biggest downfalls.

You just have to keep going! For example, last week I did a body art that a hated! scrubbed it out and through a hessy with myself. An hour later I was so annoyed with myself and needed to accomplish something in the day, that I said to myself, screw it and do it again! So I did! And I loved it.
When you hit a wall you just have to smash through it or climb gradually, either way you will end up with a great piece of art!

African Themed Bodyart.

This piece is all thanks to my partner for being the model! As with body art sometimes it is really hard to find a comfortable model who is happy with being half or fully naked.

I've wanted to do something small and African themed for a while. This isn't the best and I'm not 100 percent happy with how it turned out, haha but hey! it was fun!

Excuse the bad lighting in the pictures, they are quite rough.

If you are wanting to look for a model for Body Art, A really good website I could recommend is www.starnow.com, this site is based pretty much over the world and is great to advertise yourself on, either looking for a job or searching for models!

If you are a body artist, beginner or professional, I would love to help or hear your knowledge.! So feel free to contact me!

60's Themed Body Art

When you are doing an art piece, always remember to relax and breath. Nothing is perfect. And what is art?
This is something that I always struggle with. For me my favourite art works are the ones that look so realistic that you think it is a photograph. So for me, not being as talented as that, creating art work that I am happy with is a rare thing.
However this is also a good thing, correcting yourself and thinking of what you could improve on next is really good for your progression. But know when to stop.

This is one of my Random Body art designs that I did at home for fun.

'60's Themed'

I used 'TAG' Body paint for this work. This is a good paint for beginners. http://www.tagbodyart.com/shoppingcart/

Good morning everyone! I hope everyone has had an amazing holiday. As it is a new year and a fresh start A new blog sounded like the perfect thing to begin. I'm not the best of writers but as this is a place where everyone can be anyone I don't really care :)
As I was Saying, A NEW YEAR! Finally it has come. Last year was one of the rockiest roads I can remember. up and down up and down....now stop....breath....and begin a new. New job, new headspace, new goals. But not a new family or Partner who are my rocks and the ones that have been keeping me sane for the whole year!

I have been living with my Partners family for the past year and a half. This my friends, is not easy. Especially when you are a simple European English girl trying to fit in to an extremely traditional Japanese household. As you mite have guest my Partner is Japanese. He is a lovely guy, full of affection and creativity, but sometimes, like all guys, an airhead. His parents don't speak that great English so he has to translate nearly everything. And of course a man trying to explain what one women means to another women (me and his mum) is just a catastrophe waiting to happen.

And believe me it has happened.

Anyhow as we are still together and I now get along very well with his family I must be doing something right!
In this blog I will share some insights and advice on the Japanese Culture in the ladies perspective, as It seems to be that a white female and a Japanese man is a rare commodity in their culture. So if anyone who reads this is going through the same journey, e.g. moving in with your boyfriend, excepting a different culture or trying to get along with your in laws. We all have to do it and I would love to chat.!

I am also a Makeup Artist and Hair Stylist dabbling in Special effects and Body art. My goal is to also post up videos or pictures on different works of art, tips and tricks in these fields. Hopefully every Sunday. But bare with.

This blog will basically be an insight into my life and what I do.

Hope to talk to some amazing people on this journey.!

Hannah Bradley.
